The Opening of ‘Bugingham Palace’

In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the occupiers of Berkeley Square House, the building which replaced Her Majesty’s birthplace at 17 Bruton Street, were invited to ask their children to design a new bug house for Berkeley Square Gardens – ‘Bugingham Palace- a home fit for a Queen Bee’.

The winners of our competition were Jasmine Magar, age 9 and George Barnard, age 11 and their imaginative designs were combined and turned into reality by our service partners Jaguar Building Services and Platinum Services.

We were delighted to welcome The Lord Mayor of Westminster to Berkeley Square to unveil the ‘Palace’ on Wednesday 1st June 2022, with the competition winners, their families and the Astrea team all present, along with the building services team from Berkeley Square House.

The impressive new structure, standing at 6 feet tall, has been kindly gifted to Berkeley Square Gardens and we hope to see new residents move in shortly and enhance the biodiversity of the gardens.
